Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti chose not to discuss a possible renewal with the Spanish club. Despite having a contract until June 2024, the Italian coach is considered certain by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to take over as the new commander of the Seleção from next year.

The CBF appointed Fernando Diniz as interim coach for one year, and he has already led Brazil in two games: the 5-1 defeat of Bolivia in Mangueirão and the 1-0 victory over Peru in Lima, both valid for the qualifiers.
