Liverpool beats Chelsea and maintains leadership of the Premier League

Leader of the Premier League, Liverpool thrashed Chelsea 4-1 this Wednesday, in the 22nd round classic.

Young Northern Irish right-back Conor Bradley, aged 20, was one of the highlights: he scored his first goal as a professional and provided the assist for Szoborszlai to score the Reds’ third. Diogo Jota opened the scoring, and Luis Díaz closed it. Chelsea’s goal was from Frenchman Christopher Nkunku.

As a result, the game was also marked by complaints, as after five minutes, Gallagher received the ball in the area and fell, claiming to have been moved by Van Dijk, a penalty ignored by the referee.

In the second half, it was Nkunku’s turn to complain about a foul in the Liverpool area. Two moves much demanded by Chelsea coach Mauricio Pochettino.

With the result, Liverpool reached 51 points in the English standings, five ahead of Manchester City (with one game less) and Arsenal.

After beating a London rival at home, Liverpool now travel to London for another classic, next Sunday, against Arsenal. With 31 points, Chelsea are only in tenth place.
