At a press conference, the 39-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star said he didn’t know how many seasons he would play, but that retirement “is coming.” LeBron also answered whether he plans to go on a farewell tour when the time comes, and he made no secret of his desire to retire playing for the Lakers.

“I haven’t planned how many seasons I have left, but I know there aren’t many. I’m torn about doing a farewell tour. There are times when I feel like I owe it to my fans who have been on this journey with me for over 2 decades, to give this moment to them. I’m a Laker and I’ve been very happy being a Laker for the last six years. I don’t have the answer to how long it will take or what uniform I’ll wear. I hope it’s with the Lakers, but we’ll see. I don’t know how this will end, but it’s coming. It’s coming for sure,” LeBron said.

It’s worth remembering that LeBron arrived at the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2018/19 season. In 2020, he led the team to win the championship, becoming the first player to be champion and NBA Finals MVP for three different teams.

As a result, in his career, the star has already won four NBA titles, four league MVP awards and four Finals MVP awards, in addition to two Olympic gold medals with the American team. At the press conference, LeBron said he just wants to have fun in the time he has left.

“I’m not pursuing anything else. I just love basketball. I want to try my hardest until I can’t anymore. Just joy playing the sport I love. I know there’s little time left for me, so I want joy and to have fun”, completed.
