And that includes not only the confirmed departure of coach Thomas Tuchel, but several players.

As a result, the Bavarian team paid €4.5 million to RB Leipzig to hire its new manager, who also worked at Borussia Mönchengladbach. He takes over from Hasan Salihamidzic, who was fired in May 2023. Max Eberl is a former Bayern player and close to Uli Hoeness, the club’s honorary president.

According to information from outlets such as Kicker magazine and the Sky Sports channel, the club is planning a change of profile in the squad. The intention is to restore Bayern’s winning mentality, with more creativity, especially in midfield.

According to the German press, only four players are untouchable in the squad:

Neuer, 37-year-old goalkeeper with a contract until June 2025

Müller, 34-year-old attacking midfielder with a contract until June 2025

Musiala, 21-year-old midfielder with a contract until June 2026

Kane, 30-year-old striker with a contract until June 2027

With that, previously undisputed starters, Kimmich (contract until 2025), Sané (contract until 2025) and Gnabry (contract until 2026) are names that arouse interest from other clubs in Europe and will be available for negotiations. Bayern will also consider offers for young striker Mathys Tel, 18, whose contract runs until 2027.

The new coach is a fundamental part of the plans. And Max Eberl’s favorite is Xabi Alonso. The manager tried to sign the Spaniard at Borussia Mönchengladbach three seasons ago. However, the Bayer Leverkusen commander is the desire of other European giants, such as Liverpool and Barcelona, who are also looking for a new coach.
