This week, rumors began to emerge that Nairo Quintana would announce his retirement at any moment. Upon learning the information, the cyclist asked for a press conference to be held in Bogotá, Colombia, increasing tension between sponsors and his current team. At the meeting, the athlete reinforced that he is more than ever committed to continuing in the profession and that he has no plans to retire.

“I want to return to competition, score a number, feel the pain in my legs but also the satisfaction of winning and giving my best to reach the finish line. I want this, I need this, because competition is part of me”, said Nairo Quintana, reinforcing his passion for professional sport.
