“Today was a tough race, honestly the conditions were super tricky. We don’t run everything in the rain – short track, you know, but there are no breaks in this race. It was a little tricky, my tires were a little hard and I was struggling a little bit in the roots. But it was good to win in the end”, said the World Cup champion.

The athlete also reported on his fall in the fifth phase of the competition: “I think that when that happens, it’s important to stop for a minute and restart, as if I had a dead leg. I kind of came to the pits, got a bottle, drank it and got some gel and focused on trying to get back to the front. I didn’t do any whips the entire race, so I needed to do some at the end. At least I didn’t crash”.
