Last week, when interviewed by the German newspaper Bild, Jan Ullrich commented that he would like to return to professional cycling and that he was open to possibilities and proposals. “Obviously I wouldn’t be a sporting director for the team, but if anyone needs me I’m open to anything,” he said.

Jan Ullrich was responsible for being the first man and so far, the only German cyclist from his country, to win the Tour de France in 1997 and to win an Olympic gold medal in 2000, accelerating and boosting cycling in Germany.
