Chris Froome will not be in the 2023 Tour de France

The cyclist is considered one of the greatest athletes in the sport

Last Thursday (22), through an official statement, Israel-Premier Tech reported that Chris Froome will not participate in the Tour de France this year. The team did not specify the real reason, however, the cyclist had revealed in an interview with the French website, DirectVelo, that he had some tendon injuries.

“It was a difficult decision to select our team for the Tour de France this year, but we feel we have selected eight riders best suited to meet our performance target. The fact that we took the difficult decision to look at our long list shows the strength and depth of our group of pilots, and unfortunately, we were unable to select everyone,” said Kjell Carlstrom, Head of Israel – Premier Tech.

Now, the position that Chris Froome occupied, will be the responsibility of Michael Woods, in which during the Vuelta a EspanĂŁ he was the leader of the team and developed an excellent performance in the races. In addition to the cyclist, Israel – Premier Tech will have Guillaume Boivin, Simon Clarke, Hugo Houle, Krists Neilands, Nick Schultz, Corbin Strong and Dylan Teuns in the team.
