Last Monday (10), through an official statement made by Soudal-Quickstep, Remco Evenepoel is confirmed to compete in the Vuelta a Espanha next year. Reports indicate that the cyclist is back in professional sport and that he has recovered 100% from Covid-19.

“At first I said it was preferable that he not do the Tour of Spain. But when I saw the level he reached again and how sharp he was, I could only follow his example. Remco wants big challenges. If everything goes well on the training ground and he doesn’t have any problems, he will be at the Vuelta”, said Patrick Lefevere, manager of Soudal-Quickstep.

On his recovery, Remco Evenepoel said that he feels comfortable returning to competition: “I am very excited to return to the Vuelta. Obviously, I have only great memories of my first entry last year, when we had so much fun and I can’t wait to be out there again, taking on the race and its many challenges, and meeting those incredible fans whose fantastic energy you feel every day”.
