Wout van Aert withdraws from participation in the Super 8 Classic

Last Thursday (14), through a statement on social media, Jumbo-Visma announced that Wout van Aert withdrew from participating in the Super 8 Classic, which will take place in Brakel, Germany, in the coming days. As justification, the team stated that the athlete was not ready for the competition.

“Wout van Aert was also originally scheduled to start in the Super 8 Classic, but he is not fully fit. He is now focusing on his other goals in the final part of the season,” said Jumbo-Visma in the statement published on social media.

The athlete’s next competitions are scheduled for the end of September, as a way to end the season. The cyclist is confirmed for the European Road Championship with the time trial races, on September 20th, and the road race, on September 24th, in addition to the Coppa Bernocchi, on October 2nd, and Gran Piemonte, on October 5th. October.

The Super 8 Classic is one of the most anticipated competitions for the professional sports public as Wout van Aert would be facing his colleague Mathieu van der Poel who is one of the competitors who have great competition in winning the match. However, the dispute will need to be postponed.

Previously, Mathieu van der Poel also announced that having had a very active season he was thinking about taking a break from the competitions in which he had committed to participating.
