Messi joins the list of candidates for the MLS MVP award

Despite having only participated in four games in Major League Soccer (MLS) with Inter Miami, Lionel Messi was included in the list of 30 candidates for the MVP (Most Valuable Player) award of the American soccer league season, announced this Thursday- fair, day 5.

Messi, holder of seven Ballon d’Ors, is the most prominent name on the list, which also includes midfielder Artur (Houston Dynamo) and goalkeeper Daniel (San Jose Earthquakes). The renowned Argentine player, who is also in contention for the Best Signing of the Year award, debuted for Inter on July 21, exceeding the expectations generated by his arrival at the club.

The star number 10 led the Miami team to victory in the Leagues Cup and runner-up in the US Open Cup, but unfortunately was left out of the final against the Houston Dynamo due to physical problems.

The winners of these awards will be determined by a vote involving coaches, players and journalists, which will take place from October 10th to 23rd. Currently ranked 14th among the 15 teams in the Eastern Conference, Inter Miami faces a long shot at qualifying for the MLS playoffs with just three rounds remaining in the regular season.
