This Monday (9), the England football team confirmed that Bukayo Saka will miss the matches against Australia and Italy, due to his injury.

The team posted a report on their website, explaining that Saka was evaluated by the England medical staff and they decided to release the player to continue his rehabilitation in his club, Arsenal.

Team boss Gareth Southgate is not expected to call up a replacement for Saka, as the report says he has “a squad of 25 players to work with”. Southgate defended the inclusion of the player when making the announcement of the squad last Thursday (5), saying “there’s another seven days before we play Australia and 10 days before we play Italy”.
But Arsenal’s manager Mikel Arteta had already said that Saka would not link up to the England matches. “No, he will not make it, he has not trained for a single session”.
Saka limped out of Arsenal’s 2-1 Champions League game in Lens last Tuesday (3), and since then he missed Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Manchester City on Sunday (8). His absence from the game ended a run of 87 consecutive Premier League appearances.
