Already looking ahead to next season, coach Tata Martino was asked during an interview if he would be interested in Uruguayan star Luis Suárez for 2024, after he is released from his contract with Brazilian team Grêmio.

With that, the coach responded that there is a plan with Luisito and another without. The Miami team, which has Lionel Messi as its big star, did not qualify for the Major League Soccer (MLS) playoffs and will play its last game of the season on the 21st. Therefore, it will only resume activities in March 2024.
Namely, in the middle of this year, Inter Miami showed interest in signing Suárez and should return to the charge to sign the Uruguayan after his time at Grêmio. Luisito has a contract until the end of December and will then be free on the market.
“We haven’t been told anything about him (Suárez) yet, but when we make our plans for next season, we have a scenario with Luis and without Luis,” said Tata Martino.

In order not to be without a calendar for a long period, Inter Miami can play friendly tournaments. This year, the team signed Lionel Messi, Busquets and Jordi Alba, all ex-Barcelona. Signing Suárez would be something extra and special.
At the end of July, Grêmio and Suárez reached an agreement to bring forward the end of the contract, which initially ran until the end of 2024. The player claimed that he would not be able to withstand the demands of Brazilian football for another season due to pain in the knee.
It is worth remembering that although Tata Martino coached Barcelona in the 2013/2014 season, he did not work with Suárez. The Uruguayan arrived at the club the following season and remained until 2019/2020.
