As a result, Bayer Leverkusen gave their opponent no chance and ended the first half already 3-0 up. The first goal came seven minutes into the game, with a strong high shot from Frimpong.

The second goal was scored by left winger Adli, after a great quick departure from the team. In the 20th minute, he invaded the area with plenty of space and shot low, left-handed, to extend the advantage.

The main name of the team, attacking midfielder Wirtz scored the third goal, in the 35th minute. Goalkeeper Kastenmeier made a mistake with the ball, Leverkusen’s pressure worked, and the number 10 completed the move, dribbling the marker and shooting a left-handed cross.

Wirtz consolidated the easy victory in a 4-0 victory 15 minutes into the second half, with a penalty kick. First time in his career that he scored two goals in the same match, and the first from the penalty spot.

With this victory, Bayer Leverkusen reached the mark of 40 games unbeaten this season — they are the only team in Europe’s big leagues that have not yet lost in 2023/24. There are 35 wins and five draws.
