“I was joking when I said that. Even so, it might get me thinking. But anyway we are not there, first you have to win”, said Pinot in response to the comment he made recently about retirement. The cyclist said that, before leaving the sport, he would have the objective of winning the races and becoming national champion.

The athlete’s next competition was the French Road Championship, in France, in which his team, Groupama – FDJ, demonstrated an excellent performance in the matches, winning first place with Julian Alaphilippe and second place with Rudy Molard.

Thibaut Pinot also commented on his expectations for the Tour de France next month: “In my last season, I would have regretted not being able to go. I want to enjoy it and look at it like a party, but at the same time do my best and hope to have legs as good as the ones I had at the end of the Giro. I might have some nice surprises before we get to Paris”.
