Last Monday, through social networks, the UCI released the new campaign that prioritizes the integrity of the physical and psychological health of cycling professionals. In order to promote and strengthen honesty in sport, the World Governing Body of the sport wants to have a channel that allows the reporting and treatment of abusive conduct.

âThe UCI must therefore do what it can to fight harassment and abuse in all its forms: psychological and physical abuse, sexual harassment and abuse and neglect. Such occurrences simply have no place in cycling â professional or amateur â and cannot be tolerated,â said UCI President David Lappartiente in an official statement.

The Organization further reinforces that: âIn the fight against such conduct, it is essential that everyone, whether victims or witnesses of irregularities, feel free to express their concerns and have the necessary channels and support to do so. Everyone’s input is valuable in helping the UCI create a safer environment for everyone”.
“Integrity is a core value of sport, and cycling is a fantastic sport, which also has the power to inspire hundreds of millions of people around the world to embrace cycling as a healthy leisure activity and a sustainable means of transport. Cycling upholds strong values such as hard work, perseverance and solidarity, but it is also open to abuse,â concluded UCI President David Lappartiente.
