The fight for the German title has once and for all won by a favorite: Bayer Leverkusen. The team led by Xabi Alonso dominated and beat Bayern Munich 3-0, on Saturday (10), at home, prevailing in a direct confrontation for the leadership of the Bundesliga.

Stanisic, Grimaldo and Frimpong, towards the end, scored the winning goals, which leaves Leverkusen five points clear at the top of the table.
Saturday’s duel made it clear that Leverkusen are not adventurers in the fight for the German title: Xabi Alonso’s team once again showed their consistency, had a great performance and dominated the current national champion.Â
The home team had more play and created the best chances – especially after Stanisic opened the scoring. On the other hand, Thomas TĂŒchel’s team fell short, with lackluster performances from stars like Harry Kane.Â

The 3-0 victory, with the score extended in stoppage time, did justice to Leverkusen’s performance.
With this, Bayer Leverkusen now turns on the expectation mode for winning the German Championship – a trophy that the team has not won for 45 years, since 1979. The club’s last victory was in 1993, when they won the German Cup.
Now, with the victory at home, leader Bayer Leverkusen reaches 55 points and opens up a five-point lead over Bayern Munich, which is in second place – there are now 13 rounds left until the end of the 2023/24 Bundesliga.
The two teams will no longer face each other in the competition: now, Xabi Alonso’s team only depends on themselves to be champions.
