In a video published by Sevilla, Sergio Ramos talks about the emotion of returning to the team, and apologizes for the mistakes he made in the past. “It’s been 18 years since I left and I think I’ve made mistakes and I want to take this opportunity to apologize and ask for forgiveness from any Sevillista who felt offended by things and gestures that I could have done at the time.”

The apology is for the provocations the defender made while wearing Real Madrid’s number 4 shirt. On one occasion, in 2017, he put his hands to his ears after scoring a goal in a 3-3 draw in the Copa del Rey, making the gesture in front of the Rojiblancos fans, who cursed the player during the match.

Like Sergio Ramos, the team decided to put the past behind them and proposed that the defender return. He will wear the number 4 shirt again, and even revealed at his official presentation that his return to the club is a debt to his father and grandfather.
